The University of Wollongong (UOW) offers a high-quality MBA degree. Fortunately, it doesn’t carry the high price tag that you find at some other business schools. Graduates rate it highly and you have the option of doing an advanced or executive MBA.
All UOW MBA courses aim to teach key management competencies. These include strategic analysis and decision making skills, knowledge of economics and the global business environment, financial and marketing analysis, and people management skills. Close to 4,000 students are enrolled in UOW’s postgraduate business and commerce courses (Australian Higher Education Statistics).
Wollongong, Sydney locations
UOW is based in the coastal city of Wollongong, which is around 80 km south of Sydney. The uni also has a business school in Sydney. The cities are linked by a regular train service. Wollongong is set along a long stretch of coastline which is dotted by attractive surf beaches.
Advanced and Executive MBAs
The Advanced MBA is a 4-unit (1 semester) extension of the standard MBA. Students do additional electives in Sydney, choosing from fields that include
- Human Resources
- Project Management.
The Sydney Business School’s Executive MBA is also 4 semesters worth of full-time study instead of the standard 3. Students are taught in an intensive mode over long weekends, including a residential weekend, and there is a 2-week offshore component.
Course ratings by graduates of UOW’s business management courses are excellent, with over 90% satisfaction (Australian Graduate Survey).
UOW’s standard MBA is only slightly more expensive than the median for Australian universities (Source: GoodUniversities.com.au).
